Review – Brenda Dyer's Love's Prophecy

To begin with, let me say, "I want a vampire" and by the end of Brenda Dyer's Love's Prophecy, you'll be saying the same thing.

Mel is a brooding, vampire warrior struggling to do what is right, but knows that everyone he loves or who comes near him dies – a gruesome death, I might add. To add to his torment, his sadistic, psychotic, cruel – feel free to add more bad adjectives – father's voice insults and demeans him constantly. All of this drives Mel into a dark emotional place where his duty is to fight for the protection of the human race – who don't know and don't care. Day after day, century after century he does his job. Then he meets – Dr. Breeana Spencer – a vet and part time singer and his bloodlust goes into overdrive.

The sexual harmony between these two is rare earth magnetic and nothing between heaven and hell can keep these two apart. Until – you knew there was an "until" :-) - until Mel discovers Breeana is the key to vampire, human and his own survival.

Love's Prophecy pulls you in, grips you by the throat and won't let go. There are scenes where you want to scream at the characters. And others where tears are threatening to trickle down your cheeks. Then there are the passionate scenes – 1 word description – hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Three favourite things about the story - 1 - Mel - Brenda has created such an intense character that the reader will feel his pain and emotional torment.

– 2 - it takes place in British Columbia. A province on Canada's west coast, where fellow Canadian Brenda lives.

- 3 -the line where Breeana describes Mel's voice – If sex had a voice, that's what it would sound like. (love it!)

This is not a I'll put this on my TBR list book – this is get the damn book and read it!

Dark warriors of might...

Mel is a vampire warrior sworn to hunt and kill demons in the dark streets of Vancouver. But he's burdened with a new assignment: find the meaning behind the Vampire Prophecy. Having no faith in the gods and their empty words, he believes there's no truth to the ancient legend until he meets Breeana, a human woman who bears the mark of the prophecy and resembles the mysterious woman haunting his dreams. When a vengeful demon spies Breeana in his arms, she is marked for death. He must take her from the world she knows until he can eliminate the threat. But the real danger is the role Breeana must play in fulfilling the prophecy and the intense feelings she brings out in him. Mel is forced to choose between his obligations to his kind, the world, and the woman he loves. Does he have the courage to let the one woman who could heal his wounded heart and soul go, or will he risk her life and bind her to him for all eternity?

Small warriors of light...

Veterinarian, Dr. Breeana Spencer yearns for love and companionship, but the disappointment of failed relationships has left her bitter. She now finds solace in romance novels. But when she meets a mysterious stranger, she's drawn to him by a connection so forceful it shatters all reason, leaving her incapable of resisting him. Yet there's more to him than smoldering good looks and a rock-hard body. As she's drawn deeper into his danger-filled world, she learns she's part of an ancient vampire legend. Breeana fears her future is no longer hers and will not include Mel. As their enemies close in, desperate to destroy them both, she must fight to convince Mel her place is at his side. A life-altering choice is before her—one that will take all her courage and love to make.

  2. Wow, Daryl. What can I say...well I'll start with THANK YOU. I can't even begin to describe how happy you made me feel at this moment.
The fact you "felt" the deep love between Mel and Breeana--you "felt" and sympathized with Mel's pain--the decisions he had to make--the choices he did make--God...I'm just so THRILLED that it all came through.

Thank you so much for taking a chance on me--an new author who doesn't wear matching socks half the time--and my story. You rocked me so hard just now--and I luv ya for it.

  9. LP is one of those rare books that mixes the paranormal with a love story so intense that it shakes you to your core. Mel was the ultimate alpha male-strong, passionate, beautiful, and charming. I really liked these characters and felt like they were life like. Brenda Dyer's a helluva writer but she's an equally beautiful soul. Congrats doll! You worked hard and I'm so happy to see it paying off!

  11. Thought I commented before but guess it didn't go through. Darn Kindle! LP was one of those rare books that mixed the paranormal and an intense love story that shakes you to your core. Mel was the ultimate alpha male-beautiful, strong, passionate and charming. Breeana was just the type of strong heroine that I love. She and Mel complimented one another so well. I found myself wide awake, eyes bugging, unable to put it down. Ms. Dyer caused me many sleepless nights (and I enjoyed each one of them). I'm pretty hard to please when it comes to paranormal but this one blew the roof off my expectations. Ms. Dyer is a helluva writer but she is an equally kind soul. She's worked hard and it's wonderful to see the success happening!
