Erotic Notions on Alpha Male BlogHop

Alpha Male – The top dog. The one who gets to eat first and mate first.
I think writers like to create them because it is so much fun letting a feisty heroine shatter their self-confident worlds. Not much is more pleasing than having the Alpha humbled by love. He feels lost when his love is not nearby. He becomes speechless by the slightest whiff of her perfume. His intellect is befuddled by the touch of her soft lips on the side of his cheek.
But don't be the fool who threatens or endangers the Alpha's love. Rage knows no limit when they are driven to protect.
In my contemporary romance, A Kept Woman, Derek Davenport is the classic alpha. He is head of a multi-billion dollar corporation and is supremely confident in himself. Burned by his latest affair, Derek posts an ad for a woman. This is his response to Arianne's reply.
Hello Arianne. This is Derek. I am 28 and employed. I also like to keep in shape, but I enjoy a lazy day doing nothing but watching TV. There will be no drugs involved—only sex. I don’t have the time or the patience for a relationship.
Job description - service me at least once a week - say every Tuesday. I will supply an apartment for our meetings. I don’t want to wine and dine you. There is no emotional involvement. I want to walk in, fuck and leave.
Pay - how does $8,000 a month - to start - sound? Reply.
 Derek.

A few months later, Arianne has conquered her alpha.

Arianne stopped and stared at him. “You consider me an equal?”
“Yes, I guess that’s what all this inane rambling has been about. I’m still trying to sort out in my head how to say it.”
“I never considered myself an equal to you.”
“Well I do and at first I didn’t like it. My ego got in the way and I decided to push you off my pedestal.” He chuckled. “And you know what? You wouldn’t leave. You held up your end at the art gallery opening. You said all the right things and that annoyed me. The harder I pushed the more you stayed right there. You do know if you hadn’t flown down here, that I would have been knocking on your apartment door begging you to let me back into your life.”

In my medieval romance, Malack is Gon dra – heir to the throne of Black Dorn. His first meeting with Branwyn did not go well.

Branwyn wiped away a tear. "Please sire, I am tired and hungry and feel I may soon collapse. Which way must I travel to return to Black Dorn?"

His horse nudged him in the back with his nose. The man placed both strong hands around her waist and lifted her to his saddle. He mounted the horse, tugged on the rein and directed his horse back to Black Dorn.

When they entered the courtyard, Leah ran across the cobblestones, skidded to a stop and dropped to her knees. The horse halted a few feet in front of her. Branwyn slipped down from the stallion, curtsied to her escort and walked to her serving girl.

"Leah." His voice boomed across the courtyard. Still kneeling, Leah quivered. "Do not let her wander about freely. She needs guidance." As he turned, a stable boy reached for the reins. He tossed them over, dismounted and strode toward the castle.

But even one so lost and afraid as Branwyn was that first afternoon can melt the heart of an alpha. These are his final words to Branwyn as he leaves for battle.
He started to leave, returned, and dropped to one knee before her. "I have told you with my body, but have never spoken the words. I love you, Branwyn. I will return."

  27. Why I love Alpha Males is no real surprise! The perfect Alpha Male for me could be a Vampire, a Scottish Laird, an English Rogue/Gentleman, a Werewolf or Shape-shifter, or a Knight. He’s the rogue who thinks he can’t be reformed into a gentleman. He’s the rough and scarred Scottish laird that has a heart of gold. He’s the werewolf or shape-shifter that needs to heal an aching heart because it took him years to find his true mate. He’s the vampire who has waited decades for that special someone’s blood to sing to him and wake him up. And he’s the knight who can defeat the enemy with a quick swing of his sword, but can’t see the love in front of his face. My Alpha Male has eyes that can see into your soul and are as blue as the sea, or as black as a storm. He’s tall and brooding. His heart can enfold you into its grasp and make you fall in love when he gives it to you freely and completely. He is protective and passionate. In the end he is the one that makes your heart jump and butterflies fly in your stomach, and still kiss you until your legs melt!

  55. Alpha males are the best….strong, independent, fiercely protective, but on the inside they are nothing but a big ol’ teddy bear! I love the way their mouths talk filthy, but their eyes portray their sensitive sweet. They can be rough and tough in the bedroom, but still have the gentle caress of an attentive and protective lover. It's all in the heart.....alpha males are the best!
