Fall
I dislike
fall – okay yea – it's beautiful. See blog button at left.
But it
leads to winter and that means cold and snow up here in Canada.
I so much
more prefer -
Cold and
snow makes me want to hibernate – curl up next to the wood stove with a big hot
chocolate and spend the day lost in other worlds and other people's lives. The
hotter the read the better, to make me forget about the howling blizzard
outside.
So today, I
brought along 3 hot reads and a promise for # 4
Desperately
unemployed, Arianne, answers an ad that reads Woman Wanted. With miniscule
hours and excellent pay, she accepts the position of courtesan to Derek, a
handsomely dashing man, whom she discovers is a billionaire. Engaging in a game
of cat and mouse, will they drive each other crazy…or will they fall in love
first?

"Go save your Grandmother." After learning her grandmother booked a cruise with a supposed gigolo and is squandering her inheritance, Esmeralda (Red) Hood boards Emerald Forest cruise ship to protect both.
Once there, Red slips and falls into the arms of Wilhelm Olf, a dark-eyed, continental who makes her body tingle. Stepping out of the elevator, she barges into Andrew Woodsman, a bumbling private school teacher on his first vacation cruise.
With her attention torn between the dissimilar but sexually-intriguing men and keeping watch over tequila drinking, rock wall climbing grandma, Red's cruise is filled with fun and erotic fantasies.
Grandmother's warning of Never trust a wolf in sheep's clothing leaves Red confused. Later, when she wakes up in a utility closet, hands and feet bound and emerald necklace missing, Red discovers the man she suspected is not only innocent but also the one she loves. Purchased to be trained as a courtesan, Branwyn arrives in a strange new land. A castle called Black Dorn. Her instructor, Duna Trea, is horrified by Branwyn's lack of knowledge of the relations between a man and his woman. Branwyn begins her daily lesson in the art of bedding a man.
Back from battle, Prince Malack rests near a brook to freshen before returning to the court of his father. His life is lonely. The noble woman chosen to be his bride rejected him and bedded his hated rival. Malack turned his anger and loneliness onto the focus of battle and increasing the power and wealth of Black Dorn.
Branwyn, lost and afraid, nears the handsome stranger standing by the brook and requests his help. Malack raises his eyes and his gaze settles onto the face of the woman who will be his queen. (Free read - click tab on top of page.)(Buy link in free read)
And an
unedited excerpt from WIP - Capri's Fate.
Traffic
picked up as we neared the convention center. The driver wormed his way through
the congestion and parked at the curb by the main entrance.
"Well
it seems like a popular attraction." I paid the cabbie and we followed the
crowd into the building. My feet froze to the sidewalk. I snapped my face in
her direction. "Erotic Notions! The…the sex show!"
"Yup.
Keep moving. You're blocking people behind us." Kat nudged my arm to urge
me forward. "I pre-ordered tickets. You just need to pay."
"I'm
not going in there." I moved to the side and placed my hands on my hips.
"Oh
come on." Kat tugged my elbow. "It'll be fun. What else were you
going to do tonight, Capri?"
"But,
what if…." My stomach dropped to my knees.
"Don't
say it. I know, what if someone sees us. Girl, we're over twenty-one. We've
both been married and divorced. We’re thirty-three."
"Excuse
me. Thirty-two until July."
"Thirty-two.
Geesh. But still, I think we're labeled as cougar wannabees. Not old enough to
be a cougar. Not young enough to be a cheerleader."
I
opened my mouth to voice another valid complaint, but Kat shushed me with a
perfect teenage roll of her eyes and the first logical thing she'd said all
night. "If somebody sees us, they're in there too—d'uh!"
I
think I should've had more wine at dinner. Kat directed me to the ticket kiosk
and then in some blur of disbelief, I was standing inside the nation's biggest
sex toy show.
The
last consumer trade show I attended was for the company. It featured displays
of state-of-the-art computers, software and how to make your office
environmental and ergonomic. The dispassionate side of me said this was very
much the same. Display booths lining the walkways with sales people pitching
their wares.
The
entire rest of my being said, "Run!" The wares
here weren't technological. They were fruit-scented anal lube, blowup dolls,
crotchless panties and…and…what the hell is that?
Kat grabbed my shoulder. "This is so exciting.
I've always wanted to come to one of these. We get to do the private
rooms."
"Oh! Uh, great." Words exited my mouth but
my brain was still in shock.
"Come on, this way. We, also, get to use the
V.I.P. area. Champagne and chocolate." Her voice rose two octaves.
Champagne! I could use a slug—I mean a sip. We showed
our passes to a large security guard then sat at a table overlooking the
convention area. A server placed two unbelievably tiny plastic glasses filled
with champagne on our table and a plate of four chocolates. Who eats only four
chocolates?
I snapped my fingers. "Waitress."
She turned back
toward our table.
With one hand, I picked up more champagne flutes and
with the other I grabbed another plate of dark delight. "I paid
seventy-five dollars for these tickets. These are mine."
She started to protest but I gave my best
corporate-bitch stare down. She turned on her heel and left.

It’s hard to say what exactly would be my Go-To Autumn Romance book. When I think real hard about it, I would have to say it has a sexy, strong, determined male that when it comes to love is just lost. Then there has to be a woman who is usually in need of help or needs to know what love and family is. Together they heal each other and love turns out to be their greatest gift. I also love a happy ending at this time of year, usually where the epilogue has them starting their own family to love and cherish. Oh….and definitely HOT loving too!
ReplyDeleteAngelheart618@gmail.com
Definitely need HOT loving.

DeleteI have a love/hate relationship with fall and winter. I love the colors, I love looking at the snow, but I'm not a fan of how cold it gets even though I get to pull out my sweaters and my boots. :) Your books sound amazingly hot!

DeleteI love Fall. But I agree with you about winter. Here on the west coast or should I say wet coast of Canada, the gray sky and rain makes me depressed after the 7th month, lol.
ReplyDeleteLoved all of your excerpts.

You're welcome.
DeleteI curl up with a good book no matter what the weather is like all year round. I don't really have a favorite. Too any to count. I love many different genres so many different authors. But what I do love most of all are series. I love the fact that before a new release comes out I cn reread the series & get swept away all over again.
ReplyDeletetamstor3@aol.com
Glad you love to read.
DeleteI love autumn with all the brilliant colors: oranges, yellows and reds of leaves. I love crisp, cool mornings where the sky is so blue it looks endless and the air is so fresh in your lungs. I love snuggling up in a warm throw on a cold autumn day with a good book. Of course, I love snuggling up with a good book about anytime of the year. I love Thanksgiving because it is a time to remember all the many blessings in my life and express thanks. I love baking spicy pumpkin pies with dollops of cream.
ReplyDeleteI like stories of the unexpected. I also love the steamy passion but I hate mentioning favorite authors because the list is long. I appreciate the many styles authors use to weave stories of mystery, love, intrigue, preternatural and inspiration. I love reading because I can go anywhere, any time in my mind and imagine indescribable things.
Thank you for this contest and the opportunity to be introduced to new authors.
